I just read an article about a cat that lives in an old folks home. Apparently, the cat has the uncanny ability to determine when a patient is about to die. Once he determines who the next victim is he jumps onto their bed and doesn't leave until the invalid breathes his last breath.
The nurses are amazed at the connection this feline of death has with the dying. They find it wonderful that the cat offers such comfort at such a difficult time. They all love the cat and think it performs a valuable service and that people who die with the cat on their bed seem calmer.
Even though the nurses love the cat can you imagine what the residents must feel? Do you think any of them call to the cat and want to have it sit in their lap or on their bed? Not unless they have a death-wish. If I were one of the inmates I would throw my Musilex bottle at it anytime it came near.
I give the cat three weeks. As soon as word of this gets around the Angel-Cat-of-Death will either get a quick, adjustable, metal cane to the head and then be shoved behind the rubbish bin or be "accidentally" dragged beneath the undercarriage of a powered wheel chair the entire length of the main hall.
You might want to think twice about letting your cat sleep on your bed. Better yet, get a dog.
